32 weeks – 8 months

May 28, 2012

We completed the Bringing Baby Home workshop.  The biggest takeaway is that our relationship is very important, and that we are baby’s best/most interesting toy.  Another interesting fact is that 69% of all fights in a relationship are unsolvable, so just get over it! (Gottman did lots of research on this, so it’s true.)

Some wonderful ladies at Bethany Community Church threw Denise (due the same day as me) and I a shower on Wednesday night.  It really makes baby’s arrival feel more real.  Barb came up with this amazing activity where we used our fingerprints to decorate some onsesies.  (Check out the pics below.)

We’ve had a couple of life lessons this week.  One is silly and the other is more serious.

#1 – I had been eyeing this stroller at a local consignment shop for about a month.  I wasn’t sure if it was the stroller we wanted, so I was waiting for Brandon to have to go and see it as well.  I took a pic, we looked it up, and we decided we would finally buy it today.  As we were walking into the store, a couple walked out with THE stroller.  So, if you see what you want, go after it!

#2 – The second life lesson is that my Uncle Harlan passed away on Friday morning.  He is finally in a place without pain.  We all just have to find a way to deal with the sadness that surrounds our loss of this amazing individual.
