Fall in full effect

October 5, 2014

It just feels like fall now. The weather has been beautiful, and you can tell the days are getting shorter. Jonen is settling into his new classroom. The teachers for the Usagi (rabbit room) are  Aiko and Aya Sensei. They are both really nice and helpful. He is very excited to see us at the end of the day and tell us about his friends and their adventures. He plays with Max, Benja (Benjamin), Zoe, Shun and Amaya the most. It is fun to see how much different he acts in class now. He is so much better at washing his hands and picking up his toys. He tries to put on his own shoes, but isn’t quite there yet. He now has a more formalized Japanese class as well as sign language, art and music. (Well…as much as you can do any of those things with a group of 12 two year olds.)

We went out to the pumpkin patch yesterday and got to ride on a hay bale. Jonen was SOOO happy about that! He came home and immediately lined up our pumpkins, put fireman hats on them and acted like he was riding the tractor again. This kid has such an imagination!

Jonen is loving fall foods right now. He would tell you his favorite fruit is an apple (He eats a lot of pluots as well.) We were going to the farmer’s market on Wednesday and he asked for “greens”. Hilarious! He is one of the only two year olds I know who asks for a nap. Today I had to force him to eat lunch before his nap. He is just a silly kiddo.

Jonen is way ahead of most 2 year olds but seems really happy. Liam my grandson is 3 today and is way behind Jonen.
