Happy 2015!

January 13, 2015

The holiday season was definitely our best ever. Jonen LOVED everything about the holidays. We listened/sang Christmas songs nonstop (He still sings them!). He loved looking at the tree and rearranging the ornaments. He loved all the packages that arrived at our house. (We had to tell them they were all for Ms. Lauren and they were not his.) It was just magical!

We didn’t really prep him for Christmas morning, so when he came downstairs he was so confused. He saw his stocking first and peeked in. Grandma Darlene got him two rubber ducks and he kept asking me, “My rubber ducky? My Christmas present?” It was so cute!  We took about two and a half hours to open presents because we kept stopping to play with things. We had a scavenger hunt for his big toy, the digger. I drew little snowmen on the notes and he had to go around the house to find them. We hid it in the washing machine! Best Christmas morning ever…hands down!

We arranged a trip to Roslyn (just over the mountains) with two other couples for New Years. We really wanted to get Jonen in the snow for the holiday. It has been pretty warm and sunny for Seattle, but we found a bit of snow. We had a New Year’s count down/dance party about 6:30 on December 31st. Jonen was LOVING it! The kiddos had so much fun!

We started back to work/school last week. It seems to be a smooth transition. On days when Jonen and I are home together he asks if Daddy really has to go to work. Today he was telling me how much fun he has when he gets to play with his toys and how much he loves Daddy.

Our conversations are pretty hilarious now. We tell knock, knock jokes at dinner. (Jonen’s usually involve a watermelon.) I was looking at recipes for dinner earlier today and asked Jonen what he thought Daddy would say if I made French Onion Soup. (I don’t really like onions.) He told me Daddy would be surprised and say, “WHAT!” We laughed about that for awhile.

My favorite memory of 2015 so far? Last night we got in our jammies early, drank hot cocoa, and watched football together. I love some quality time with my boys!
