Dearest Jonen (2 and a half!)

February 20, 2015

Bugaboo,

You bring so much joy into our lives! You are just a little dance party/art machine/ball kicking or throwing entertainer extraordinaire. Your favorite song is Michael Jackson’s Shake Your Body. Your favorite books are Dr Suess’ The Butter Battle Book, Oh the Places You’ll Go, and Larry Gets Lost in Seattle. You love to tell me that you were born “in the mountains of Seattle.” And you are a great Northwestern by always good for spotting the Space Needle and a ferry crossing the sound.

You LOVE sports! I say Seattle and you say SOUNDERS! I think going to the Mariner’s baseball stadium on Fan Fest was pretty impressive for you. We ran the bases, sat in the dug out and explored the club house. Pretty great stuff! You keep reminding us that the Seahawks lost the championship. That one hurt a lot! (Although you do switch up between acting like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, so you might like the Packers as well. You also say “pass to Marshawn”, showing your astute knowledge of the game.)

I just want you to always know how much I love being your mom. You have such a curious/observant personality with a big splash of action. You are starting to become more independent and are quite the helper. I love your help in the kitchen (mostly with tasting anything I’m trying to chop up). You also help us out in the garden by digging up everything in sight and watering plants. (It works most of the time.)

We’ve embarked on a new adventure: potty training! Together we will figure out how this whole potty training this works. Right now, we are in the exploratory stages.

Anyway, just know that your Dad and I are here to guide you and help you figure out your way on this curious life. We have become a great team, this Lindsey family!

Love you so much!
