September & October – Oh my!

October 16, 2015

Crazy couple of months. Jonen has been adjusting nicely to Panda 2 with Aya Sensei. (He had a rough first month, but he LOVES it now.) Three is a great age. We play baseball, football, duplos, draw, and paint. We’re hoping to make it to the pumpkin patch this weekend if it doesn’t rain too much. (AND we will somehow get Jonen into the water for his swim lesson. He doesn’t like the lesson initially and screams and cries, but LOVES the water once he is in it.)

Funny Jonenisms:

  • Apparently our little man is super polite in Japanese. I’ve had two teachers talk to me about how good his Japanese is and said he encourages other kiddos to speak in Japanese as well.
  • Jonen causes a bit of havoc at school during lunch. First, he tries to get the students to eat the “real” food. They had chicken nuggets one day (the first time in the two years Jonen has attending Megumi) and Jonen wouldn’t eat it and tried to convince the other kiddos not to eat it either. Second, he tries to get his fellow students to eat the “real” food. He encourages his buddies to eat all the yummy rice, soup and veges. Aya Sensei thanked us for Jonen’s good eating.
  • He wants to learn how to draw his letters more and more now. He writes us a “letter” each day and puts it in his cubby. We also practice at home. His J and O are great!
  • His favorite class at school right now is PE. He also has Japanese, English, Sign Language and Music class.
  • We got to see the Impressionist exhibit at the art gallery for Mama/Jonen Day. It was fun to share my love of art with my little man. Our favorite painting was a pointillist painting by Seurat. LOVE!!!
